13.12.2008 Champion of Champions 2008!!

I have already attended the festive Chamption of Champions Ball that is organised by the Slovak Cynologic Union several times, but until now, always as an onlooker. This year I decided to enter one of my darlings, too. My choice fell on Angelina. There were 96 dogs entered, all SK Champions, of course. The group of sighthounds had eight representatives. First, there were the elimination rounds which had already started at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. There were three exhibition rings prepared for these. Then, round 8 o'clock in the evening, we presented our dogs to judges and visitors in the hall. The judges recorded their notes on the individual dogs which should move on already in the elimination rounds. The number of advancing dogs in the groups altered based on the number of the dogs entered in the individual FCI groups. From group X, there were three dogs moving on. The first one to move on was Cesaro, the Irish Wolfhound, the second one, to my great joy, was Angelina, and the third one was Larry. After a break for the necessary walk with our darlings and for people to have a look at the buffet offer, the finals could start. Angelina walked the red carpet and her sparing partner was an impressive Pyrenean Mountain Dog. Both dogs ran the length of their carpets fro and to and the judges let Angelina to move on! So, we got among the eight best ones! The next round brought Angelina to compete with a miniature Dachshound which was chosen as the better one of the two. In spite of that, I am really happy that Angelina got to be one of the eight best champions out of such a great number of dogs and at such an event! The Dachshound which scored off became this year's Champion of Champions in the end. It was a beautiful evening! You can view the pictures in the Gallery.
